They kill you and then claim you were already dead

Because they think you are dead
They leave you
To gather the love they claim
They cover the earth with roses and tears
And lay you down.

Because they think you are dead
They place you in a room
Of lost memories
With all the forgotten colors of the rainbow.
They mention and thank you,
And argue over who loved you
most,
Loved you best.
And with their doubt, they kill you.

If you try to show your life
And paint your smile with blood,
Eyes open wide, shut tight
No light, no darkness,
They will not save you.

Let them hear your heart beat
The rush of your breath,
They will ignore you,
And laugh,
And say,
“He thinks he is alive!”
And with their doubt, they kill you.
